Hello, Beautiful Souls — I’m Lois, the creator and voice behind Essence of Pride.

What started as a personal journal about my journey relocating to Thailand has evolved into something deeper — a celebration of growth, courage, and cultural pride. I built this space not only to share my experiences as a woman starting anew later in life, but also to honor the legacy and brilliance of the people and stories that shaped me.

Here at Essence of Pride, I explore what it means to live boldly, embrace change, and create a life filled with meaning — wherever you are in the world. From reflections on expat life in Thailand to lessons on aging with grace, every post is written with honesty, humor, and heart.

But Essence of Pride is also a space of remembrance and empowerment. Through a special section called The Blackprint, I highlight the often-untold stories, contributions, and triumphs of Black people throughout history. It’s my way of shining a light on our collective strength — the creativity, resilience, and excellence that continue to inspire the world.

Because pride isn’t just about where we live — it’s about who we are, where we come from, and how far we’ve come.
